Membership

Please join us! Your name does not have to be Tufts and you do not have to have Tufts ancestry. Our membership is open to” Any person interested in Tufts heritage.” Most of our members are Tufts descendants, but many are also spouses of Tufts descendants. Our Tufts Kinsmen author himself, Herbert Adams, was the spouse of a Tufts. We continue to research descendant families of Peter Tufts of Charlestown, Massachusetts and other immigrant families. See our Research and Community (links) pages to connect with others and join us at a reunion or annual meeting.

Annual dues are $10 at present (2020).

Our annual meetings are in August or September and members who have paid their dues thirty days prior are eligible to vote. The meeting is often scheduled in conjunction with our reunion.

Dear Tufts Relatives,

On behalf of the board of the Tufts Kinsmen Association (TKA), I want to thank you for showing an interest in this family association. It is always wonderful for us to see so many known and new cousins at our annual meetings and at our occasional reunions.

I have had the opportunity to attend many annual meetings and reunions, including trips to Nova Scotia and England, over more than 35 years (where has the time gone?!), ever since Herbert Adams founded our organization in connection with his work that was dedicated to compiling our family genealogy.

As a Tufts family member from a small branch that has “daughtered out,” I have found it very rewarding to be a part of the TKA. I have really enjoyed meeting my distant cousins over the years and have made a lot of friends. It is so nice to feel a part of a larger group of relatives.

I sincerely hope that many of our newly introduced cousins will become active participants in our organization, even if we see them just once a year! I also hope that we will have the opportunity to meet you and more of our cousins in the near future. Please get in touch and let us know your thoughts, how you might like to participate, and any suggestions that you might have for the TKA!

Thank you!

Susan Tufts-Moore
